Exodus 33:1-34:35: Moses met with God and God spoke to him as a man speaks to his friend. Wow!!! Can we have a relationship like that today? Proverbs 18:24 states that there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother and Proverbs 17:17 says, a friend loves at all times. God loves us unconditionally all the time, but it is our choice to please Him which is very important. Look what Jesus said in John 15:13-15.
What was Israel’s identification? It was not their prosperity, the blessings, their military might, or the promises of God. It was the Presence of God!! Without His Presence, all else has no meaning.
Moses asked to see God’s glory. What did he see or hear? God declared the answer in Exodus 33:19.
Exodus 34 has many great nuggets!!! Exodus 34:26 tells us where our tithe goes: the local church. That means that ministries outside the local church are supported by our personal offerings, not the tithe.
Matthew 26:1-25: The disciples where upset about the woman’s offering to the Lord. If you study the other gospels, you will see that Judas was the one who stirred up the disciples to be indignant. Judas, the Bible tells us, was a thief and was the treasurer for Jesus’ ministry. Isn’t it amazing how people who don’t like to give, get mad at the time of the offering. The moment we realize the value of the ministry of Jesus, we will stop measuring out our offerings and we will give with joy!!!!
