Free day of reading!!! Since the 29th only comes once every four years, we will have some golden nugget reading.
1 John 5:14,15: There are several specific needs which we should always consider as targets for prayer in spiritual warfare. One desperate need relates to the condition of blindness which Satan has inflicted on unbelievers (2 Corinthians 4:3-4). People cannot come to Jesus unless their spiritual eyes are opened!!! (Romans 10:14-15)
The Holy Spirit brings conviction when the Word is taught or preached, but the unbeliever must get to the place where it is preached. How will they be drawn to that place? When we pray for the lost!!! Look at God’s promise for the lost in Psalm 2:8. The word ‘nations’ is defined as ‘the heathen, the lost.’ We must ask for them as our inheritance.
This is where you and I and the Church of Jesus Christ enter the picture. Jesus said in Matthew 12:29 that we must bind the strong man before we can spoil his goods or take his trophies!!! This is where prayer comes into the equation of getting people saved.
Prayer is the primary weapon in combating spiritual blindness. Jesus said that He gave us the keys to the Kingdom and whatever we bind on Earth must be bound in Heaven and whatever we loose on Earth must be loosed in Heaven.
The Bible tells us that God doesn’t desire anyone to perish but all come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Therefore our evangelistic strategy must include authoritative and spirit-filled prayer. Every church should not only have individuals praying for the lost whom they know, but also a corporate time of prayer to do spiritual warfare on behalf of the lost in their city and county. God will move, blindness will falter, and the Spirit of God will draw the people we are praying for to come and hear the good news of the Gospel (John 6:44).
This is the purpose and why we have Saturday night prayer from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. (Acts 3:1; Mark 14:37-38) Please come and do spiritual warfare with us. The eternal destinies of thousands depend on our prayers and spiritual warfare.
But let’s don’t forget the believers (Ephesians 1:18-19). We pray this for every meeting and assembly. This gets the Holy Spirit involved with the believer to understand the Word and its blessings. Pray this over yourself and your family.
Look at what can happen when the Church prays!!! (Acts 12:5-17)
