Genesis 37:1-38:30: Parents, it is vitally important that you don’t show partiality with your children or you will end up fostering jealousy, envy, and hurt. Remember, God shows no partiality when it comes to His children even though we all have different giftings and abilities. Our four children are all unique and have different giftings and callings. It was Tava’s and my responsibility to see what areas God had gifted them with, and to train and encourage them in each one. Look at what the Bible teaches us concerning God and partiality (Deuteronomy 10:17, 16:19; Acts 10:34, Ephesians 6:9).
Kids come in all sizes and shapes, some are faster and some slower but they all have a destiny and purpose given by God (Psalm 139:13-16). God encourages the fathers, with His desire, concerning our attitude toward our children (Ephesians 6:4, Colossians 3:21, 1 Thessalonians 2:11).
In Genesis 37:5, we see Joseph had a dream but because he bragged about his dream, it got him into big trouble. It is great to have dreams from the Lord but be careful how you present it and who you share it with.
In Genesis 37:28, Joseph’s brothers sold him for 20 shekels of silver. Don’t ever let anyone other than God determine your worth!!!!
Matthew 13:1-30: This is one my favorite parables, the sower sowing the Word. Even though he didn’t have good results at the beginning, he kept on sowing and at the end, he ended up with good results. What kind of soil are you? I believe you are the good ground and you will bring forth good fruit!!!! Don’t become lackadaisical with your relationship with God, the Word of God, or the church so that you become dull of hearing and seeing. Don’t let your hearts become dull, keep your heart on fire for God, His Word, and church. Fan the flame!!! Don’t let praise and worship become a song service or prelude to the next part of the service (Psalm 100).
Matthew 13:24-30: Don’t let the devil or anyone else sow bad seeds into your mind, which will have a direct effect upon your actions, behavior, and attitude. If you don’t like the way your life is going, then change what you see, hear, and who you hang out with day to day. Garbage in – garbage out!!!! (1 Corinthians 15:33, Proverbs 1:8-19). The Internet, TV, and even Facebook can have a great effect on your life, for good or bad. Be wise and guard your heart!!!!
