Old Testament

Numbers 13:1-14:45: This story represents two groups of people and it still applies to our situations today. Proverbs 23:7 states, “as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” What is stored in your heart can propel you to the heights of success or plunge you into depths of defeat and despair (Proverbs 4:20-24).

Everything Israel needed to possess the land was already established!! Because they had God’s Word and God backing that Word, they were more than conquerors and already successful. But fear, doubt, and unbelief kept them from achieving and accomplishing the plan and destiny God had for them. All they needed was to go forward in faith!!!

The majority saw themselves as grasshoppers but Caleb saw himself as a conqueror which shows you that the majority is not always right!!! You can be right in your own eyes but be wrong in God’s eyes (Proverbs 14:12). They had a victim’s mentality but Caleb had a victor’s mindset!!!

They began to complain and shifted their fear to blaming Moses. When you allow fear to rule your life, you will begin to blame others for your lack of faith. If you don’t believe Proverbs 18:21 then look at Numbers 14:36-37. Don’t let doubt and unbelief dictate your future, get into the Word of God and build your life on faith!!! Believe and speak what the Word of God says to you. Be and live like the conqueror that God says you are!!!! (Romans 8:37-39)

Psalm 31:19-24

Proverbs 11:15: Surety means ‘co-signer.’

New Testament

Mark 10:32-52: Another great lesson on leadership. Blind Bartimaeus would not stop pursuing his dream even when others were trying to quiet him and shut him down. There are many obstacles that we face in life but you are well able to be successful. God is for you, not against you!!!!
