2 Samuel 11:1-12:31: David stayed home when he should have been about his business. He became bored and complacent, which set him up for temptation. Jesus said I must be about My Father’s business.
There are times we can get bored with who and what God has placed in our lives. Beware; the enemy is lurking to set you up with temptation!!! Don’t let your eyes wander off course; keep your sight on the plan God has for your life or you can find yourself in a tangled web of deceit and sin.
The Devil not only wants to destroy your life but the lives of others as well. Look at the effect David’s temptation had not only on his own family but also on the lives of others.
John 6:22-51: The people wanted Jesus for their own selfish reasons and when He gave them the Word of God, they left Him. Their hearts were never with Him, only with what He could do and provide for them. We always need to check our motives and examine our hearts concerning our relationship with Him (Revelation 2:1-5).
