Guidelines and Directions
The Covenant Love Fast (CL Fast) begins on Monday, January 6th 2020 and ends on Sunday, January 19th 2020. The CL Fast is similar to the Daniel Fast, with some adjustments which you can find more information about below.

Please remember to use wisdom in your fasting! If you are currently on any medications, please be sure to speak with your doctor before changing your diet. Remember, changing your diet is not the only way to fast! If you are unable to change your diet, we invite you to pray with us and come into agreement with our Prayer Focuses this year.

Pray

Don’t forget to include God in your fast!
Open yourself up to Him and talk to Him about your intentions and needs.
Pray the Word, pray in your understanding as well as in the Spirit.

Plan

Consider the purpose of your fast,
set aside times to pray and study God’s Word,
make a meal plan for yourself or your family.

Prepare

Don’t just jump in on January 6th! Start now!
Begin to taper off sodas and tea, and start drinking at least 8-10 (8 oz.) glasses of water a day.
Cut down on foods that are fried as well as your sugar intake.

Goals

A few CL Church Goals we have set for ourselves include:

• Seeing God’s presence manifest in our services with His mercy, grace, love and power to be experienced by every person. Unity would be a dominating factor in Covenant Love.

• We would honor the Holy Spirit and that the teaching of God’s Word would be received and that we would order our lives in total obedience to His Word, adults, youth, and children.

• God would give us the lost for our inheritance, the Holy Spirit would move in our city and country to convict of sin, righteousness, and judgement.

• All our financial needs would be met, there would be financial increase for our congregation and church.

• God’s wisdom, guidance, direction, and instruction given to us in every decision we are called to make.

High Protein Option

Due to a majority of our church family serving in the military or having high protein dietary needs, Pastor Al has added a High Protein Option to the CL Fast, as well as one cup of black coffee with no cream, no sweetener. For those using the ‘High Protein Option’, Chicken and Fish are allowed, baked or grilled; not fried, no toppings such as breadcrumbs, cheese, batter, etc. If you are taking medicine, are pregnant, or under a doctor’s care, make sure you talk with your doctor before you start anything.
