“Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” – Matthew 26:41 NKJV
I remember the day when I started to work out in order to get ready for a physical event, but due to other factors that were in my life it kept getting placed on the back burner. Once I started to restart I noticed it was very difficult to pick up a routine. I was used to sleeping in late and everything possible to get me out of working out, but I knew in my mind that it was very important for my event that was coming up and for my day to day health. I had to regain focus in working out in order to pass my events. The same goes for our walk with the Father.
There are things that can hinder us in our daily walk with God that will cause us to pull away from reading His word or getting into prayer. We are ambushed daily with instant situations or just a busy schedule that we tend to forget where our help comes from. Our flesh or our human weakness will fight what our spirit is trying to do, especially spending time with the Father and reading His word.
John 10:10 reminds us that, the enemy is out to kill, steal and destroy you, and the only way that we may know what the enemy is trying to do is to get connected with our Heavenly Father. So during this fast, watch and pray. Do not allow not your flesh to hinder your walk with God. Remember that your spirit is willing and that you can go to the Father as He leads you to carry out His will in your life.
Let us watch and pray!!
