Acceptable Fast to the Lord | Tuesday, January 8, 2019

“And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.“ And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.” – Isaiah 58:11-12 KJV
Fasting along with prayer opens the wells for the continual watering of our spirit man, our families, co-workers, and even our city. It is through our fasting that we have the opportunity to call forth blessings and restoration into the areas that God have given us authority in. As a son or daughter of the living GOD it is our inheritance.
Maybe you have not fasted before, or you fast from time to time. Either way, I would like to encourage you to remember the purpose. We are not trying to get something from God, but seeking to realign our hearts with His. When we reflect, repent, and realign with what the Word says, we live lives that are acceptable to the Lord. Fasting enables us to do this because it cleanses the sanctuary of our hearts of every other rival.
So, worship Him by song, obedience, and targeted prayers. And if you feel as though you are getting off track, I have good news: “For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.” – 1 John 3:20 KJV
Our God is greater!
