Craving the Goodness of Him | Wednesday, January 9, 2019

“Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke.” – Isaiah 58:6 NKJV
During this time of fasting, we prepare our bodies and minds to receive all that the Father has for us. As we tune into the frequencies of heaven, we shut down the noise of this world to commune with our Creator. Our bodies are vessels of joy as we wait with great expectation to receive words from our King. It will be as manna from heaven…a spiritual delight and the only nourishment we need to sustain us through these glorious days ahead.
As good as that sounds, it may not feel like a true revelation of how our bodies feel. As we tune into the frequencies of heaven, the smells and visions of Bojangles, Papa Johns, and Chick-fil-a fills our nostrils. This can distort our minds and bodies to the revelation of what our bodies hunger for! But, as we struggle to push past the cravings of our flesh and redirect our minds toward Him, we must reflect on why we are doing this in the first place.
As Isaiah 58:6 declares, this is our time to free ourselves from the cares and stress of this world and draw closer into intimacy with Him. In shutting off the cravings of our flesh we can tune into the desires of our hearts and spirits. It’s never easy but with the Holy Spirit it’s never impossible.
So, instead of our eyes steadily pressed toward the mark of the high calling of Day 21, let’s take it one day at a time and receive all He has for us.
Crave the goodness of Him!
