“But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.” – 2 Peter 1:5-7 NKJV
The progression of faith takes time. We know we are all given the measure of faith, but that doesn’t mean our faith can’t continue to grow! How can we grow our faith? We can grow our faith in levels by adding the things we find in 2 Peter 1:5-7: virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, kindness, and finally love. Just like babies must have time to grow, so does our faith in everything we do. Meditating on His word daily, pulling out the truths and nuggets from His word is the perfect way to grow our faith.
During this month, the Daniel Fast is the perfect opportunity for us to exercise our faith and allow ourselves to grow both in faith for our spirit man and faith in our bodies. I encourage you to use the growth seed of self-control to tell your body to maintain itself. I also encourage you to allow your spirit to manage the food you take into your body, instead of allowing your mind and self-will to eat the bad things during this time of fasting. Be strong, exercise faith, and grow in the good things of God and the good foods your body needs during the Daniel Fast.
Exercise your faith!
